Meesho Shipping Estimator — Complete Guide
How the Meesho shipping estimator works: enter a weight or pick a category to see the forward shipping rate for each zone and the cheapest option, from a published rate card.
Last updated
Shipping is the deduction sellers most often get wrong, because the fee depends on two things at once — how heavy the parcel is and how far it travels. The Shipping Estimator returns the forward shipping rate for every zone from a maintained rate card, so you can price with the real number instead of a guess.
What it does
Give the estimator a weight (or a category, which carries a default weight) and it returns:
- the forward shipping rate for each zone — Local, Zonal, and National;
- the cheapest option, highlighted;
- the weight slab used, so you can see which band you fell into.
Why it helps
Weight slabs are stepped, not linear: a parcel at 490 g and one at 510 g can fall into different bands and cost noticeably different amounts. And the same parcel always costs more the further it goes. If you price using a single “average” shipping number, you will overprice near buyers and lose money on distant ones.
Knowing the rate per zone lets you do two things well: price with the worst-case zone in mind, and feed an accurate shipping figure into the Profit Calculator.
How it works
The estimator reads a rate card of weight slabs × zones. Each row defines a minimum and maximum weight for a zone and the rate that applies inside that band. When you submit a weight, it finds the matching slab for each zone and returns that zone’s rate, then flags the lowest.
If you submit a category instead of a weight, the estimator uses that category’s default weight — handy when you know the product type but not the exact grams.
How to use it
- Open the Shipping Estimator.
- Either enter the parcel weight in grams, or pick a category to use its default weight.
- Run the estimate (this uses 1 Blue Coin on success).
- Read the rate for each zone; use the highlighted cheapest figure as your floor and the national figure as your worst case.
The public rate card is shown for transparency, so you can always see the slabs behind a number.
Getting the weight right
- Weigh the packed parcel, including filler and packaging — not just the product.
- If you are between slabs, plan for the higher slab; a few grams of tape can push you over.
- Not sure of the weight? Pick your category and the estimator uses its typical weight, or type the grams for an exact rate.
Blue Coins & access
- Reference data (categories, rate card) is free to view.
- Each rate lookup costs 1 Blue Coin, charged only when the estimate succeeds.
- New accounts start with free Blue Coins; top up anytime on the pricing page.
Note: Estimates are indicative and based on a published rate card, not official Meesho quotes. Confirm the final charge in your seller panel. Source Code Stack is independent and not affiliated with Meesho.
Frequently asked questions
- How many Blue Coins does a lookup cost?
- One Blue Coin per successful estimate. If a lookup fails, you are not charged.
- Where do the rates come from?
- From a published rate card of weight slabs and zones that an admin maintains. Rates are indicative for planning — always confirm the final charge in your Meesho seller panel.
- What are LOCAL, ZONAL, and NATIONAL?
- They are shipping zones based on how far the parcel travels — roughly same-city, same-region, and across-India. Rates rise with distance, so the same parcel costs more nationally than locally.
- Can I estimate by category instead of weight?
- Yes. Pick a category and the estimator uses its default weight; or enter the exact weight in grams for a precise slab.
