How to Calculate Your Real Profit on Meesho

· Source Code Stack

Most Meesho sellers price their products by guessing. They add a rough margin on top of cost, list the item, and hope the settlement looks healthy. Then the payout lands and it’s far lower than expected. The gap is almost always the same three deductions: commission, forward shipping, and GST charged on those fees.

Here’s how to work out what you actually take home.

The settlement formula

Your settlement — the amount Meesho pays you — is:

settlement = selling price
           − commission (a % of the selling price)
           − forward shipping (borne by you)
           − GST on fees (18% of commission + shipping)

Your profit is then settlement − product cost, and your margin is profit ÷ selling price.

A worked example

Say you sell a kurti for ₹499 that costs you ₹250, Meesho’s commission is 12%, and forward shipping is ₹49.

  • Commission: 12% of ₹499 = ₹59.88
  • GST on fees: 18% of (₹59.88 + ₹49) = ₹19.60
  • Settlement: ₹499 − ₹59.88 − ₹49 − ₹19.60 = ₹370.52
  • Profit: ₹370.52 − ₹250 = ₹120.52 (a 24% margin)

That’s a very different picture from “I sold it for ₹499 and it cost ₹250, so I made ₹249.”
